Frequently Asked Questions

Every question
you might have.
Answered honestly.

Safety & Medical

How do I know the doctors are qualified?

All our specialists are board-certified by Colombia's official medical bodies (SCCP for plastic surgeons). We provide verifiable credentials, clinic accreditation certificates, and you can review your surgeon's full portfolio before committing.

What clinics do you work with?

We only work with clinics holding valid international accreditation (ACREDITACIÓN en Salud). All facilities maintain anesthesia teams, ICU access, and comply with Colombian national health standards — comparable to US Joint Commission standards.

What happens if there's a medical complication?

Our clinic partners carry medical liability insurance. Your coordinator is available 24/7 during your stay. In the rare event of a complication, we have established protocols with the clinic and cover communication with your home physician.

Is medical tourism safe?

Colombia has established itself as a leading medical tourism destination with world-class infrastructure in Medellín and Bogotá. The risk profile with a vetted coordinator and accredited clinic is comparable to any elective procedure in the US.

Process & Logistics

How long do I need to stay in Colombia?

Most procedures require 7–14 days in-country. Your specific timeline is confirmed during consultation based on procedure type and your surgeon's post-op clearance requirements.

Do I need to speak Spanish?

Not at all. All communication is in English — your coordinator, your consultations, and all documentation. We manage all Spanish-language interaction on your behalf.

Can I bring someone with me?

Absolutely. Many patients bring a companion for support. We can arrange accommodation and logistics for a travel companion. Let us know during your intake so we can plan accordingly.

What do I need to bring?

Your passport, any relevant medical records, and a comfortable recovery wardrobe. We provide a full pre-trip checklist after booking confirmation.

Payments & Pricing

How and when do I pay?

A deposit of 20–30% is due to confirm your date. The remaining balance is paid 7 days before your procedure. All payments in USD via credit card, debit card, or ACH transfer.

Are there hidden fees?

No. Your itemized quote covers everything listed in your package. The only additional costs are airfare, hotel room cost, meals, and personal items — all disclosed in advance.

What's the refund policy if I need to cancel?

Deposits are fully refundable if cancelled 30+ days before your procedure date. Cancellations within 30 days forfeit 50% of the deposit. See our full Refund Policy for details.

Can I pay in installments?

We do not currently offer financing, but we can work with third-party medical financing providers if needed. Ask your coordinator.

Post-Op & Recovery

What does recovery look like?

Recovery varies by procedure. Most patients spend 3–7 days in a local recovery accommodation before being cleared to travel. Your surgeon provides a detailed recovery protocol including activity restrictions and follow-up schedule.

Do you provide follow-up after I go home?

Yes. We schedule virtual check-ins with your surgeon at 2 weeks, 6 weeks, and 3 months post-op. Your coordinator also remains reachable via WhatsApp for any recovery questions.

What if my local doctor has questions?

We provide a full English-language surgical report and can facilitate communication between your Colombian surgeon and your US-based physician if needed.
